Materials and Mechanical Testing

Tensile, hardness, chemical composition and coating

Materials and Mechanical Testing

Mechanical property, chemical composition and surface coating tests for metals and plastics.

Tensile test from 1,250 TRY

In manufacturing, construction and automotive, verification of material certificates is a precondition for product safety and tender specifications. Our materials testing laboratory stands beside you from raw-material intake to final product quality control.

Tests

  • Tensile test (yield, tensile strength, elongation) – rebar, fasteners, sheet and wire
  • Hardness: Brinell, Vickers, Rockwell
  • Chemical composition by optical emission spectrometer (steel, aluminium, brass)
  • Coating thickness, salt spray corrosion test
  • Metallography: grain size, phase analysis, weld macro and micro examination

Process

Test bars are prepared to the standard; we have a separate machining workshop for this. Test reports are given with the relevant ISO/EN standard number and sample traceability. For batch-based tests such as rebar, a sampling plan per batch is created.

Report content

Every report includes the sample identity, test bar dimensions, test conditions (speed, temperature), the result table and, where needed, a curve chart. Traceability to calibration certificates is stated in the report annex.

Scope of service

  • Tensile and hardness testing
  • Spectrometer composition analysis
  • Weld macro and micro examination
  • Report with standard number

Frequently asked questions

Which of your analyses are within the accreditation scope?
Most analyses in our catalogue are within the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation scope. The scope list is published on the Accreditation and Guides page; methods outside the scope are stated clearly in the catalogue and the report.
How soon will I get the report?
Time varies by analysis: water microbiology 2, food microbiology 3–6, chemical analyses 4–5, ICP-MS 4, Legionella 10 working days. Fast (+50%) and express (+100%) options shorten the times.
How do I track my report?
Enter the sample number on the reception slip on the Report Lookup page; you see the stages sample received, in analysis, awaiting approval and completed and the estimated delivery date.
How should I send the sample?
In a sterile or suitable container, labelled and at the right temperature (2–8 °C for microbiological). Quantities and rules are written on the Sample Acceptance Conditions page. You can drop it at our reception points, ship it by cold-chain cargo or request the sampling service.
What if the sample is not suitable?
At reception a sample may be rejected if temperature, quantity, container or label is unsuitable; the customer is informed the same day. For conditionally accepted samples this is stated in the report.
