Bacteria, yeast-mould and specific pathogen screening in cosmetics.
The microbiological quality of cosmetic products is needed for consumer health and the product information file (PIF). Limits are much tighter, especially for eye-area, baby and lip-area products.
The package includes the search for total aerobic mesophilic bacteria, yeast and mould, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. A challenge test (ISO 11930) is applied separately to show the efficacy of the product's preservative system.
We ask for at least two separate packs from each batch; a sealed sample taken from production is preferred to an opened pack.
