Salmonella spp. Detection

Searching for the Salmonella pathogen in a 25 g sample of food.

Salmonella is one of the most important agents of foodborne disease. For many food groups the regulation has the criterion "absent in 25 g of sample". The analysis consists of pre-enrichment, selective enrichment and confirmation through isolation on selective media.

The result is given as "detected / not detected in 25 g". For positive results, confirmation and, if needed, serotyping are done for an extra fee.

  • A widely requested analysis for meat, poultry, eggs, milk powder, spices and dry foods
  • Frequently requested as a buyer criterion in exports
  • Negative results are reported in five working days and positive confirmation in seven

If Listeria and Enterobacteriaceae are requested together with Salmonella from the same sample, a package price applies; a screening (PCR) option is available for faster results.
