Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2 (HPLC-FLD)

Aflatoxin determination in hazelnut, peanut, fig and spices.

Aflatoxins are natural toxins produced by mould fungi and associated with liver cancer risk. In exports of nuts, dried fruit, cereals and spices the aflatoxin limit is set very tightly by country and product and is one of the most common reasons for rejected consignments.

Sample preparation begins with grinding and homogenisation so as to represent the lot; extraction, immunoaffinity column clean-up and HPLC fluorescence detection follow. B1, B2, G1, G2 and total aflatoxin are reported separately.

  • Measurement at ppb (µg/kg) level, with uncertainty stated in the report
  • Consulting on a lot sampling plan
  • A 24-hour fast option for export lots

For hazelnut, peanut and fig you can get our support for a representative sampling plan by lot size (a combined sample of at least 10 kg).
