Metal Tensile Test

Yield, tensile strength and elongation: rebar, sheet and fasteners.

The tensile test measures a material's behaviour under an applied load until it breaks. Yield strength, tensile strength and elongation at break are the most basic strength data in structural and machine design. The specification conformity of rebar lots is verified with this test.

Test bars are machined to the standard and measured with an extensometer on a 600 kN universal testing machine. The report contains the stress-strain curve, yield and tensile values and elongation at break.

  • For rebar, welded mesh and fasteners (bolts/nuts)
  • Batch-based sampling plan and a result in two working days
  • The test is done to the specification, and a statement of acceptance or rejection is in the report

The number of samples and lot size are set in the specification; if you need help we calculate the number of samples according to the relevant regulation and standard.
